Tour de Fleece is going strong!
Two-thirds of TdF are behind us now, and the spinners all around the world are spinning up a storm. The hashtag #tourdefleece2023 has over 1000 posts filled with inspiration and beautiful projects.
The question is, what to do with all of those newly finished skeins of handspun? No worries, we got you covered and want to share our favorite projects for handspun yarns with you.
To really show off the colors in your multi-colored yarn, a sweater like the Tetris Pullover by Julia Farwell-Clay is perfect, as it changes directions. If you prefer a simpler look, the Flax sweaters by TinCanKnits are perfect, too. There is a worsted weight version and a fingering weight version, so you can choose the pattern that better fits your yarn. Cardigans like the No Frills cardigan by PetiteKnit or the Pressed Flowers Cardigan by Amy Christoffers also really showcase your handspun yarns.
If you are a spinner like me, you won't only produce sweater quantities, though. So you’ll need some patterns for smaller projects, too. Patterns like the Arched Gusset Mittens by Purl Soho or the Musselburgh hat by Ysolda Teague are perfect for showing off the yarn. Shawls like Reyna by Noora Backlund or the Boneyard Shawl by Stephen West will let your yarn shine for sure.
If you spun a solid color, you could go with any pattern that matches the gauge of your yarns once it's knit up. That goes for sweaters and accessories alike.

Go Sockrazy!
If you don't have a real knitting crew in your city and are a complete sock lover like I am, I highly recommend that you join the first SSAL – Secret Sock Along hosted by Stephen West. You've probably heard of him before; he’s well-known for his crazy and colorful shawl designs. It's the first time for this particular event, and I'm absolutely into it! I love seeing other people's choices of yarn and palette. Join the Ravelry group and come with us on this adventure! —Tamy Antunes
A heart-warming book
If you’re looking for a feel good and cozy book to curl up with, I recommend The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan. It’s a wonderful story about having the courage to start over and follow your dreams. Nina was a librarian until she lost her job. She then decides to follow her heart and purchase a van to convert into a mobile bookshop and moves up to the Scottish Highlands to sell her books. You will fall in love with the characters and the Scottish Highlands in this wonderful contemporary romance. The audiobook version is also spectacular if you’re looking for something to listen to while you're knitting. —Jaime Morese
